What do we sell?

The Photos on this page are sample of items we have had in our various departments.  Click on photo to enlarge.  A wide variety of quality, affordable merchandise is offered continually, including a complete assortment of clothing, linens, home decor, office supplies, books. videos, furniture, outdoor items, toys and games, and much more.
Where do we get our items?

The store is supported by generous and continuous donations received from local individuals, families, businesses, and organizations.  These donations take the form of new and used merchandise, supplies, services, and labor.  We are very blessed to have the support of Dubois and the surrounding area.

When can donations be dropped off?

Donation hours are from 10 a.m - 4p.m the days we are open. Please do not, at any time, leave items outside the door as items  unattended encourage theft and may be damaged by weather.  The donation drop-off area is located on the south side of the building.  No need to knock - just come on in and we'll be glad to help you unload.
Are donations tax deductible?

Yes.  We are a 501-c-3 organization.  Receipts are available for tax purposes.
Where do the proceeds of the sales go?

Continuing the history of the Opportunity Sale, all income, after expenses, goes back to the community in the form of grants and donations.  The Opportunity Shops exsistance has not only helped individuals and families in need through vouchers and merchandise donations, but has benefitted more than 50 organizations in Dubois and the Upper Wind River Valley.
Can I become an Opportunity Shop volunteer?

Yes.  Volunteers are needed and most welcome to help in the store.  If you are interested in volunteering, please feel free to contact us.  No amount is too little. With just 1 hour of your time you are helping us fulfill our mission.
Are there any items you will not accept?

Yes.  We will not accept items that are badly soiled, worn, and in need of repair.  All electrical items must be in working condition.  We will not accept paints, flammable & hazardous materials, tires, large appliances, microwaves, TV's, computers, printers, and fax machines.

Is there anything that needs to be done outside the store?

Yes.  We have an annual July 4th sale in the parking lot and an anual Opportunity Shop Silent Auction held at the Headwaters.  Extra help is always welcome for these events.
There are also overstock items that need a lift to Lander and Riverton.  If you are traveling in that direction, feel free to stop by the shop for a few bags.

We honor all persons --- the giver as well as the receiver, the worker as well as the shopper, the elderly as well as the youth.
